The above video is the first animation I've done for How to Dominate a Twink. I don't like the milkshake sounding sipping, I'm going to find or record my own thinner liquid slurp sound. I think he's drinking juice or tea.

For this one I imagine Fernando and Gooseman are out on the town, they've just seen a movie or something. This a concept of the skybridge where the story is set, some time in the evening:

Thank you for supporting this project! I've shown it to 0 people and I've watched it so many times I've lost all objectivity, so I have no idea whether the joke lands or not.

I do know I'm really happy with how it looks, and figuring out how to use music in the last part is one of the trickiest audio challenges I've had. I made around 5 different versions of the very last part.

I'm not going to upload it straight away. Youtube appear to be undergoing some kind of transition where they are using AI to implement age censorship...

RANDY is doing terribly! At first I blamed youtube's algo, but just now I noticed the click through rate is 5.4%, which is very low. Compare that to 10.9% for Manwhore vs Femboy. (Click through rate is how often viewers watch a video after seeing an impression.)

Spectral Seed (some new characters)

My new project is Spectral Seed, a 90ish second cartoon about a wizard and his apprentice.

I've been deliberating over how to colour my two main characters. My default for a wizard is always PURPLE. So I tried three different purple combos first.

But he looked too much like the balloonist wizard from Meth Orcs.

I then tried green and gold.

A lot of tracks for this one. I leaned on an old composition called Cucumbers heavily for this. It has a festive feel and I felt it fit. I've been listening to a lot of oldskool rave and happy hardcore recently which is the influence behind the Huge Gimp track. Yo ho ho is a variant of the casino track, I took out the "yo ho ho" in the end, it drew too much attention to itself.

Randy: FINAL PAUSE

I've paused patreon for another month. The project that I worked on from December until early April has resumed but only for 4 weeks, and this time it's definitely going to end, as they will start filming. It's really annoying timing because I am SO CLOSE to finishing Randy. Sorry for another delay. After this is finished I have shorter projects planned.

RANDY update

The above video is a track called Dad Store. I intended to do a string of new song collabs near the end of last year but I didn't have enough time, now I don't feel the musical spark, I just want to finish this dang cartoon. If making this cartoon was a hero's journey then I am at the dark before the dawn, the ordeal, stepping up to the challenge. Hopefully the next phase is SUCCESS. I say that mostly because it's so long, and I am increasingly aware how long I've spent on it.

Space Adventure Legend Quest - The Eternal Party

Some of you will have seen this already. This was made in 2011, for Machinima. Machinima was sold to Warner Bros, and I was told that this series would be shown on the Rooster Teeth website. It was not, and now Rooster Teeth has been shut down as well.

Machinima split my first episode into two. I'm showing it here as one episode (and in UHD).

I don't own it but whoever does now (Warner Bros I suppose?) doesn't want to show it anywhere. It's possible no one in the organisation even knows they own it!

Manwhore vs Femboy (Test scene)

This is a scene from the first episode of the Pleasure Island Tournament Arc series I have been posting about recently. At the moment it's 9 episodes, and this scene represents about 1/6 or 1/7 of episode 1.

My original idea when making this was to make it in greyscale with very limited animation, something between an animatic and a comic.

Tournament experiments

The title image is the first shot in a short test I'm working on. I'm going to make a 30 second ish test animation of an excerpt from episode 1 of the Pleasure Island tournament series I've been writing about in the last few posts. The goal is to see how long it takes, whether it's watchable, and whether I feel like I can make the series. Working at the pace of my usual style, it would take years. Like, actual whole multiple years.

Status update

My work project continues. I can tell you now it's a movie for Netflix (but I can't spill anything else). I still don't know when it will end, but I'm going to see it through. It's my first time working on a movie. I was cruelly and coldly not asked to work on the Bluey movie, but then shortly after I was invited to work on this one (maybe they felt bad for me?).

I mentioned in my last post I've been writing a series called Pleasure Island Tournament Arc. At the moment it's 8 episodes, but might end up being 9. Each...

Hiatus continuing

My work project was due to be finished mid January but the project has expanded. I may end up storyboarding 3x the amount that I was originally asked to do. The project is cool and is something I'll be happy to have worked on when it comes out, which is why I'm continuing on it instead of resuming Crab Tab.

Extended pause

Sorry for not posting for a while, I've been busy working and stressing. The job I mentioned in the last post is pretty much finished although it went over time, and they have offered me some more work. I've kept patreon paused so no one will be charged next cycle.

In my spare time I've been making a shitpost cartoon about ads, but I don't have anything worth showing from that yet. I've started a new music collab and I've attached where the song is up to, at the moment it's a nice 40 second ditty about a long lost dad.

Patreon pause for 1 month

I'm pausing patreon for a month starting today in order to do a 4 week storyboarding job. When it's finished I'll keep going on Crab Tab. No one will be billed for the next 31 days.

Sorry for the constant delays on this project, I've turned patreon off for 3 of the last five months I think, two times for work and once for family reasons and when I came back I spent a month making Full Melon Jacket instead of Crab Tab. I'm very keen to work on it! Thanks for sticking with me.
