This is expected to be temporary, but can affect search for spotify songs and playlists, you may see a lot of covers and remixes. We apologise for this, and are trying to find a way to bypass these changes, there is no ETA of fix on this as the solution for this is still unknown.
Please keep an eye on our support server for updates.
Spotify recently made a change to it's API where third party services like fredboat cannot fetch "suggested" or "recommended" playlists, and playlists don't have a way to tell if they are "recommended" or user generated.
User created playlists will continue to work fine, recommended or auto-created playlists will not work on fredboat.
On the add-on premium but, you can now play any links that point to the below file formats.
- MP3
- FLAC
- WAV
- Matroska/WebM (AAC, Opus or Vorbis codecs)
- MP4/M4A (AAC codec)
- OGG streams (Opus, Vorbis and FLAC codecs)
- AAC streams
- Stream playlists (M3U and PLS)
Playlists via pastebin are also supported! just make sure every song link is on a new line.

We see that a lot of people end up doing custom pledges instead of picking a tier from our patreon page. We do not support custom pledges and picking a tier is mandatory.
If you have made a custom pledge, please click on the "Join" button the tier for the amount you have already paid for. For example, if you have paid $3, click on the join button on the "$3" tier.

There are two new updates to FredBoat Premium features!
- Volume command will now save the volume for 14 days, unlike now where it resets with every disconnection.
- Full support for Spotify links, you can now use links to individual tracks and album links in addition to playlist links, this still plays songs from other sources on best effort basis like it did with playlist links!

All you need to do is invite the Fredboat Premium after susbcription, and it should activate premium features on Regular Fredboat too! So 2x Benefits :)

Hey all,
Overnight I received a couple complaints that the patron bot was lagging. These problems are a result of the growing number of people using FredBoat Patron. In response to that I went ahead and upgraded the patron server to be able to handle twice the amount of music, while still being located in the same datacenter region.

Hey all,
2017 has come and gone (give or take a few hours) and I wanted to take some time to reflect on what the year meant for FredBoat.
FredBoat was initially created by just me back in spring 2016, and exactly one year ago we saw about 468k users in 20.8k servers. Those are very big numbers, but it is quite small in comparison with today's numbers. Today we see over 10 million (!) users in just shy of 594k discord servers.

What this means is that new patrons are charged the moment they pledge, as opposed to the start of the next month. This option has long been on my mind and I'm now planning on activating it.
This means that when you pay your pledge instead of paying for the last month, you're paying for the new month. If you are an existing patron, this shouldn't affect you, and you will be charged like usual.

Hey all patrons,
Some of you might have noticed that the patron bot has just restarted a few minutes from now. This is because the patron bot has just been migrated to a new server with twice as many resources! This means you can once again listen to the patron bot without stuttering.
If you find that the patron bot is still lagging try changing your voice region. If that doesn't work please get in touch!
