"Kindred of the Tusk" | SAURIA: Lore Compendium

I wasn't sure if I was going to make extra "lore videos" for SAURIA as I didn't know if anyone would be particularly interested in the extended lore of this weird fantasy world I'm making.

However, the overwhelmingly positive response to "Blood for Blood" has led to tons and tons of questions about the extended world of SAURIA. Building up this world, its characters, and its factions is some of the most fun I've been having with this project, and I'm more than happy to share it! :D

OLD BUCK FIGURES ARE HERE! :D

These figures are part of the Beasts of the Mesozoic toyline, and are based on the character from my Dinosauria Animated Series.

You all know I love collecting dinosaur toys and the Beasts of the Mesozoic toyline in particular was a huge inspiration while making "Old Buck". To now have a couple of Old Buck figures in the very toyline that inspired the film is pretty amazing! :D All thanks to you guys with your fan-choice votes that got this whole collaboration started.

If "RepostNetwork" looks familiar it's because they famously copyright-claimed Pewdiepie's own original music and claimed his videos. What Next?

Hey, everyone! Just wanted to take another opportunity to thank you all for the support throughout my ‘Dinosauria’ series. It has been great.

Now that the series is done I have no major project to work on anymore. I haven’t had this kind of short-film freedom since 2019. I could make anything! I think I have three main options;

1. New Autodale Series of films.

2. Dinosauria Series 2.

3. Something wholely brand new!

'No Monsters' is BACK! :D

Here is my final post (hopefully) on the copyright claim situation;

For the past 8 months, I have received multiple fraudulent copyright claims over some of my earlier Autodale videos. Whoever was behind this wasn't specifically targetting me though. They had actually stolen a collection of copyright-free music created by Ross Bugden (which a lot of my videos use) and put it into Youtube's content ID system as their own, reaping all the ad revenue they could.

I am looking for composers interested in scoring my old "No Monsters" animated short film.

"No Monsters" has been fraudulently copyright claimed over the song used in it, and this has been a reoccurring problem for months. I don't think I can live with a bunch of scammers profiting off of work that isn't theirs so I have decided the best course of action is to re-score and re-upload the film.

AUTODALE IS BEING COPYRIGHT CLAIMED AGAIN!

I have received a copyright claim over "No Monsters", and "Making of | Don't Feed the Freaks" from "[Merlin] DINASTIA MARKET INC SAS" on behalf of "Bad Blood Music"/"Fame 13" over the passed few days.

These people are scammers. They take copyright-free tracks, put them into the Youtube content ID system, and proceed to claim the videos that have used it.

In particular; they seem to have stolen a collection of Ross Bugden's older tracks. MOST of my Autodale films use Ross's music and are in danger.

'Old Buck' Beasts of the Mesozoic Artwork! :D

David Silva and I are teaming up to create an 'Old Buck' Beasts of the Mesozoic figure. This isn't going to be a simple repaint of the existing Styracosaurus model anymore. The frill and nasal horns will be re-sculpted to better reflect the 'Old Buck' character. We're also considering doing 'plain' and 'bloody' versions corresponding to the opening and closing of the film.

I'm currently working on the 'Featured Species' segment and just rendered out this size-comparison for the video. I thought the image looked really cool so thought I'd share it with you all. "Dinosauria" Update #31: Geosternbergia Sculpture!

With "Sea and Sky" pretty much finished, I've been hard at work on the "Making Of" video. Today I've been filming and editing the sculpture segment.

Here is a sneak-peak at my finished Geosternbergia (Pteranodon sternbergi) sculpture... looking a whole lot like a gummy bubblegum bottle! XD

I somehow keep getting surprised at just how much fun these making of videos are to do. It's great to slow down after working endlessly on an animation to reflect on and evaluate the work for a week or two.

As mentioned in a couple of my previous posts; the mainstream media depiction of pterosaurs is very outdated, far more outdated than the pop-culture depiction of dinosaurs. Pterosaur depictions remain mostly unchanged since the Ray Harryhausen days, being portrayed as squawking, flapping, evil sky vermin and that's not right at all.

I actually ended up liking this film FAR more than I expected to. I think it has grown to become my second favourite of the series, just after "Our Frozen Past". Hope you all enjoy it too when it's released! ^_^

An "Old Buck" Figure is going to be made! :D

The "Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsian Series" toyline that helped inspire my "Old Buck" short film (the toys I'm playing with in the "Making Of" video) just had a poll for fan-choice repaints of certain figures.

An "Old Buck"-inspired repaint was the No. 1 pick voted by fans which means we're going to get a Dinosauria Series-inspired Old Buck styracosaurus figure!

I had nothing to do with this. It was 100% voted by fans of the toyline and I even avoided sharing the news until now as to not artificially inflate my ch...

This is just a quick update telling you guys that "Sea and Sky" is almost finished. I have a couple more shots to animate, a bunch of animation tweaks, and sound recording/editing left to do. The Early Patreon Version/Youtube Teaser should be out some time this month! ^_^

Above are some screenshots of the other non-dinosaurs that will feature in the film. These animals are supposed to be juvenile Cretoxyrhina but I think the skulls are too long and narrow so I'll probably add that to the "animation tweaks" list.

"Dinosauria" Update #29: ...not technically Dinosaurs.

"Sea and Sky", the next film in my "Dinosauria Series", will actually not feature any dinosaurs.

I'm sure a lot of you already know this but pterosaurs and mosasaurs (the two groups that will feature in my next short film) do not belong to the "Dinosauria" clade and were therefore not dinosaurs. They were still large, fluffy and/or scaley reptilian contemporaries of the dinosaurs and are often lumped in with them in films, books and toy buckets.

With "A More Ancient Spring" out of the way, I've focussed all of my attention on the fourth film in my "Dinosauria Series" which is currently called "Sea and Sky".
