New scene packs in my Patreon Shop!

James’rpgart post New scene packs in my Patreon Shop! from patreon

After uploading the Curse of Strahd scene pack to my shop the other day, I got some good responses about its usefulness and requests for other adventure scene packs to be uploaded.

So here are the next 2 most popular adventure packs that I have made, for ease of 1-click download! No requirement to become a patron, and all scenes downloaded in one zip file. Both still and animated versions.

So check out the Shop on my Patreon page for these packs...

I had the distinct pleasure this week of working with the Reclusive Cartographer who made an awesome map to go alongside my scene. We have worked together in the past and it was such a fun experience that I think there will definitely be more in the future!

As you can see from the preview, this is a four story tower, perhaps abandoned, perhaps not. Either way, it has seen better days, and I think could be the location for just about any creatu...

Curse of Strahd pack on my Patreon Shop

James’rpgart post Curse of Strahd pack on my Patreon Shop from patreon

I have been asked quite a few times by people just wanting to access the Curse of Strahd location scenes if there is a way to download them all at once.

Well, now there's an option to do that!

For those who only want a certain set of location scenes in 1-click download, then this pack is for you. It also does not require you to become a patron, so it is available to those who just want a specific adventure and to not have to subscribe ...

The Tavern Interior I made a while back I know has had a lot of use by myself and many others. And so I wanted to depict one of the beautiful rooms that might be available for those guest who have deep pockets. I think scenes like road side campsites and inns are a great opportunities for role play between the characters, and so I love providing more scenes in this kind of genre. Hopefully your party has a character or two that could afford to stay in the n...

I think wilderness locations like this waterfall can hold just about any encounter or any surprise. Perhaps this is just the location for a skill challenge where the party has to climb a route to the top, or perhaps there is a cave hidden behind the waterfall itself where bandits or pirates have hidden their spoils. Potentially this could even be used in conjunction with something like my Rope Bridge location.

I hope it inspires some wilderness encounter and c...

I've wanted to make a stormy cove scene for a while, and while experimenting with the painting I decided I should add to the story by throwing a few shipwrecks onto this dangerous shore. I like the idea of sending the party to this location on a fetch quest for some lost item that is said to be in one of these wrecks, or even at a wreck at the bottom of the cove. I also really liked making the Ocean Fortress scene recently, so perhaps these locations can be used ...

We all know a great low level adventure is tracking down and dealing with some local bandits that have been harassing or attacking travelers, and so I thought that deserved a location. I was also thinking about Robin Hood with this one. Secreted deep in the forest, where the local law won't find them, the bandits are able to make their plans. Or who says that the people who are camped here are actually bandits? Perhaps, like Robin Hood, they have been forced out of their town by the new overlord..

Let me know what you think of this one...

Spring is arriving in the northern hemisphere, and it is a beautiful time of year that deserves its own tribute. Patrons seem to like, and find useful, these travelling landscape scenes, as they can be reused and can serve quite a variety of purposes. As much as players like to roll dice and defeat monsters, it's also great to have moments of levity and rest between these scenes. Or who knows... maybe the flowers in this field have poisonous pollen...?

Slum - Still Image

I had someone on the discord suggest this part of a city to me as a good location for a scene, and I thought since I have the City Street scene, which depicts a nice part of a city, it would also benefit having a scene where the party could find some scum and villainy. This also ties in really well with something like my Seedy Tavern scene, so I like having scenes that can be easily be use...

This is a recent collaboration I had the opportunity for make a scene for, and it is such a unique city and location that I just had to make it. Physically the city sits directly in the middle of a striation of cloud cover. This allows the bottom engineering level to sit in the thunderheads and heaviest clouds. This helps contain the extreme noise and is the practical location to both keep the city afloat and centrally located where they can mine storm-ore from the clouds. The middle of the city is the prime location housing the middle to up...

I've had this location on the list since I made both the Mine and Logging Camp scenes, and I wanted to make a few more locations in this genre. I feel like adding these types of locations into your world helps it feels like a living, breathing place, where the NPC's are just people who are trying to get on with their lives; they're not just sitting around waiting for the heroes to arrive. I think...

I have been asked quite a few times since Phandelver and Below came out if I am going to make scenes for the additional locations in the adventure. So, I went and looked at the first couple of chapters and this dungeon entrance popped out at me as quite useful. Of course, dungeon entrances are always a useful scene to have for just about any adventure, so having some generic looking entrances are great, and this one fit the bill. In the adventure, this dungeon has three entrances, including the main doors, so I wanted to hint that there are ...
