This year was very succesful to bring the population of Stray Dogs down.

Our good cooperation with Dogs of Moalboal has done a lot to improve the lives of the street dogs. We'll be back next year with great enthusiasm and our list is ready

 for January 14th.

Happy Adoption

Yesterday found Moby her new home in Cebu City, Banawa,Quadalupe. 

We are shure she will have fun and joy with her new Adopter family.

Also we bought by the way a bigger transport kennel box, that we urgently need.

Also some medicine like deworming drops, and Vitamin booster for our sick dogs.

It was another long but successful day.

A very nice day get to an end

Rambo, met his new family in the morning and has now arrived in his new happy life. We received great praise for our renovated and clean shelter. The construction work continues and the second septic tank for the puppy zone and the quarantine zone can only be dug with the help of a jackhammer, muscle strength is required. In the afternoon 2 sacks of donated food arrived and we women were also very pleased with a large donation of plants and plants were used in teamwork and with fun. And a sun protection shed has also arrived and now protects...

Christmas time is starting

The Christmas decorations are well received by all residents and guests. Maybe we can have the first party soon if we finish our construction site in time. A little variety in the daily routine brings a good mood.

Sad news

Unfortunately we had to accept the deaths of 4 of our smallest friends in the last three days, including Buddy and Mia, they fell victim to the Parvo virus. It is a dangerous disease and few of the puppies survive this severe infection and die within a few days. They had already received 2 of 4 shots of the vaccination, but unfortunately they died anyway. We immediately cleaned and disinfected the puppy area thoroughly. This is now possible after the conversion. Unfortunately, our quarantine station has not yet been completely renovated and ...

Where is our location?

Here in the philippines, we stay in the middle of the Islands, our location is in Moalboal. You can find us at South Cebu. Thank goodness we're not often hit by typhoons or earthquakes. Our place is preferred by tourists to take advantage of the good snorkeling and diving areas. Most of the people here are dependent on tourism.

The closest major city is Cebu City and can be reached in 2.5 to 3 hours by car. There are also very good shopping opportunities and there are some very good hospitals.

It gets better and better

The puppy zone is almost ready now. Today a bamboo fence will be installed. Finally, the inside of the feeding station will be finished with plastering and painting and a sun protection tarpaulin will still be delivered. Then our next task is to make the quarantine zone so clean and to get new cages to accommodate the newcomers. Thank you, thank you for your support

Exciting delivery

Today there was great excitement in the Moalboal Dog Sanctuary, our building material supplier got stuck in the muddy ground when driving to the shelter with the truck. There was no going back and no going forward. The rear axle was buried up to the chassis. Finally after two hours of hard work and partial unloading of the load on the spot, it was possible to get the truck going again. Now we have to improvise again tomorrow and do additional work to bring the washing sand to the intended place. 😅

Happy rescue

In the past few days, a stray dog mommy was sterilized. Afterwards we found the 4 puppies of the dog lady in a closed construction site and provided them all with food and medicine for the next 5 days. After the recovery, the dog mother could be released again today and the puppies received their first full bath, were freed from countless fleas and ticks and then brought to our sanctuary, where they will be safely cared for and vaccinated for the next few weeks and then hopefully soon a loving family connection Find.

We held another very successful ‘Pay1 Fix1, Paw it forward…’ Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic today.

9 female dogs and 1 male dog were fixed and are now looking forward to a happier and healthier life.

* 6 of the dogs were local strays and were bought to the clinic by our caring local volunteer dog lovers, who will offer support and aftercare.

Our puppies happily watched the creation of your new house and occupied it straight away.

Now they have protection from the rainy weather. However, the area has not yet been completed. There is still a lot to be done.

Despite the ongoing construction work in the shelter, there is still time to watch the puppies play.

Poor Newcomer

Since a few days we have again so a poor adult boy at our Shelter. He is very thankful to us.

He needs a lot of attention and vitamins, baths and good nutrition to regain his strength.

Unfortunately the Parvo Virus is rampant again in our shelter, and unfortunately 6 of the puppies have already died from it. Four other dogs are showing the first signs of the disease. The medicine against the virus and the fever has been used up. 

We urgently need puppy milk and vitamin drops against scabies.

How do you weld a gate in the Philippines

A new driveway was urgently needed for our shelter. Within two working days, a welder from the neighborhood was able to step in and make a double-leaf gate for us. It is not a European standard, but it is functional. And our escapee King now has to think of something else.

One of our rescued and now healthy adults

Right now I'm the boss here. I am the first at the front of the gate to announce visitors. I am very friendly, especially when I smell a new batch of food coming in. But sometimes I feel like doing nonsense and then make plans with the teenagers to escape and to be able to scare the cats and chickens in the next neighborhood. But actually I would like to be a good watchdog for a new family of my own in order to get lots of pats just for myself.

What happened to the donations?

We are overjoyed by the donations that we can now buy the material for the urgently needed puppy house. Unfortunately, the heavy rain forced us to postpone it again, so that we cannot start construction work until next week. The workers are already ready and the area has now become more interesting for the dogs for a while with many play hills. All dogs are excited about what's going on here.

Spay and Neuter Event again

This friday for the first time the Municipality arranged a big spay and neuter and vaccination event.

40 dogs and also cats now have a better chance of staying healthier and uncontrolled reproduction can still be stopped.

It is gratifying that the city now seems to be tackling this major problem and is offering it free of charge. The mayor of Moalboal donated lunch to the medical team privately and was also on site for a short time.

Red Rainfall Alert

After the heavy rainfall during the last night all Puppys safed at the Amakan house now. One of the puppys died of get sick with the wet weather.

A new caretaker has arrived yesterday, his name is Jodel and his first day struggling extremely with poor conditions.
