In this case both deeds are done also as a function of their powers. So its meant to be looked at critically and from a commentary perspective we gotta be sensitive. The mental aspect for both characters is they tend cut or purge when they are down/sad and to fit in. So there is 100% a mental component but its not apples to apples with real life because they have powers that benefit from their behavior

I have physiological bulimia due to a genetic condition so I throw up several times a day when I eat and Emma's situation seems more like that to me than the people I know with bulimia nervosa.

Considering that Jordan seems to have multiple abilities ( each form seems to have its own powers plus thereโs the ability to switch forms), how far a stretch would it be to have Sam be imprisoned because heโs not only mentally broken but also entirely too powerful to be allowed out? Just shooting out ideas.
