Re:Zero, should we watch SUB or DUB?

Dub is good as well, and I understand why they would do dubbed because of the dialogue. But I agree the sub is highly better.

These are semantics. It’s obvious what people mean. The idea is that some people view those who automatically see dubs as trash as people who think they’re better than those who don’t, or that they’re not true fans. It’s not always exactly true, but you get the idea. They’re saying it seems dismissive and kind of snobbish. You’re allowed to have your own opinion, but other people can see that opinion in their own way

I don’t think it’s automatically elitist to prefer sub. But it’s disingenuous to act like there aren’t a lot of anime fans who treat all dubs as if they’re trash by default. You don’t really get the same thing the other way around.

I’m all for dubbed anime, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, One Piece, Dragonball. Re:Zero has a good dub, but the sub is a level above. It’s similar to the HxH dub, while good it doesn’t have the highs that the sub has. That all being said, I’ll vote for dub cause I know sub is gonna be picked and I love being contrarian lol.

Voted sub, I have heard both versions and both the sub and dub do a good job respectively but some of the sub voice actors have arguably some of the best work of their career in this series. Plus I highly doubt you guys would have trouble following because of having to read subtitles, its more dialogue heavy than some other shows but you handled AoT, HunterxHunter, and other shows just fine so doubt this will be overwhelming at all.

Absolutely Sub. It has some of the best VA of any anime I’ve seen. Even if the Dub is fine (which I’m not sure it is.) The sub is head and shoulders better than it, and even other subbed anime.

The animation doesn’t really affect the translation considering it’s not like the mouths ever match the Japanese dialogue. They don’t animate the mouths like they do in western animation

Hi! My preference has been mainly “sub” over dub because the animation feels more natural that way and you get a better experience during an emotional scene, action sequences, or character interaction as you get the full impact of moment compared to a watered down version resulting from the layering of translated vocals unto the anime. That’s just my personal opinion.

The sub for ReZero is insane I can’t speak on the dub at all as I haven’t watched it but I would say some of the sub moments are the best I’ve seen in terms of voice acting
