GRIZZRYPANDA - Kashimakaze making process part.1

SUKIMA SANGYO post GRIZZRYPANDA - Kashimakaze making process part.1 from patreon

This time, I painted Kashimakaze, sculpted by Grizzly Panda, and would like to introduce the process of its making.

┃Surface treatment - Dry fit

The first step, as always, is to check parts and surface treatment.

The number of parts is small and the cast is in good condition. Furthermore, the kit has very few masking points, so the difficulty level of production is very low. Those who have it lying on the shelf...

[Random note]Maybe a build log with no explanation is more in demand

For the last two videos, which we have been trying to brush up gradually without changing the video production process much, we did not explain anything, almost to the point of not having any explanations in the video at all.

However, I have seen a visible improvement in viewer retention rates compared to before, so it must have been effective.

It may seem unkind not to provide explanations in a video, but I have recently come to feel that not daring to do so may work in the right direction.

I myself have a habit of wanting...

Fujiyama Sankaku - Houshou Marine 3D Edition Making Process Part.1

SUKIMA SANGYO post Fujiyama Sankaku - Houshou Marine 3D Edition Making Process Part.1 from patreon

I assisted the dealer Fujiyama Sankaku with a paint sample of their newest work, the "Houshou Marine 3D Edition".

I believe that it will be available at TFO10 and later events, so if you were not able to purchase it this time! If you were not able to got it this time, please wait for the next time.

I have already posted the video, so I will try to give you some making tips in this post as well. I didn't include explanations in the video, but I think it is enough for those who have built garage kits to some extent to understand th...

There is not much to say about the colors to be used for painting except that we should take a close look at the illustrations that will serve as documentation and mix the colors...

I adjusted the luster based on the atmosphere I felt when looking at the illustrations and 3D models in the 3D Edition.

It's a bit messy, but this is how I adjusted the luster.

The method of painting the strip hanging from the skirt is also quite easy to do.

First paint the whole thing in gold, then paint the black parts with enamel paint.

Then wipe it off with Finish Master (Rubyhead) dipped in enamel solvent.

The gold and black portions of the obi were easily painted.

After this, just masking the design a...

SUKIMA SANGYO post Fujiyama Sankaku - Houshou Marine 3D Edition Making Process Part.4 from patreon

As for the eye paint, I did not draw the pupil this time because the eyes were heart-shaped. However, I think it will be easier to draw lines next to the pupils if you draw them.

I think it is better to draw the pupil as a guide, even if it is just a dot (warning).

Also, this is what the professional painter said, but it is easier to get the image if you draw the lines with the mouth brown first as much as possible.

At any rate, the first step is to do the preliminary painting. The following process is worked with enamel pa...

[Random note]Players who create good work appreciate good work.

This is not really related to production, but I suddenly remembered a book I read a long time ago that said something like, "Good players appreciate and listen to good works.

┃How to improve your taste in garage kits

This is exactly right, and I believe that players who create good works of art, whether in music or painting, are constantly improving their own sense of taste by watching, listening to, and experiencing excellent works of art.

By carefully looking at excellent works, one can think about wh...

[Random note] How to repare from peeling paint, over shadowed skin, garbage on it, or peeling when scraping... without removal of paint

In this issue, I would like to pick up on the "how to recover without removing the paint".

Specifically, I'm talking about skin main recovery, but it can probably be applied, so "I don't want to remove the paint!" Try this when you find yourself in a situation where you have to!

[Random note]February is ending way too soon, so I'll try to get the word out sooner rather than later!

Hello! Just a few days ago we had Wonder fest, and now February is over and March is upon us! No kidding!

So, the things I have been allowed to work on at a slow pace have taken shape, and I think they will be released in March. Oh, and there will be a video. I put a lot of effort into the review part of the video, so please enjoy it as well.

At the end of the video, I've included a scrolling list of the screen names of our supporters as of the end of February. Thank you sooo much!

I'll write a little about Lancer Raikō, sculpted by Benchmark

SUKIMA SANGYO post I'll write a little about Lancer Raikō, sculpted by Benchmark from patreon

It's that time of year again, the 2023 Wonder Fest Winter.

Once again, my main focus was to greet the dealers. While I was able to talk to some of the people I had originally planned to meet, there were others I was not able to... I experienced what tends to happen only at real events each time.

I sometimes attend to help my friends, but I also have more than a little desire to be on the dealer's side with modeling myself. I often feel that real events like Wonder festival are a source of motivation that I cannot get from online ...

[Random note] Do you using nozzle caps with instant adhesive?

Sometimes I get messages from people who use Cyanon and have trouble with it hardening quickly.

It is true that if you use Cyanon as it is, the contents can harden after 3 months of exposure to moisture in the air. I have experienced this too.

However, by using a thin nozzle cap like the one in the first image, you can prevent moisture from getting inside the container.

Simply leave it on after use and the cya...

The real purpose of the recent survey

SUKIMA SANGYO post The real purpose of the recent survey from patreon

Thanks for taking a look!

I wanted to assemble this swimsuit Masilo as soon as I received it, but I had a lot to do halfway through the year-end and New Year's holidays, so I wasn't able to make it.

I have a lot of things to do after the new year, but I was able to complete it in 3 days with some time to spare. It's so cute, anyone who buys it should built it together! It will be a soothing experience if you put it next to your desk.

I also made an ASMR-like video while I was working on it, but how was it...?

SUKIMA SANGYO post Eldramodel Thea (Nekojira Original Illust) wip part4 from patreon

So now that we have checked the failure pattern, let's look at the eye paint when it was redrawn. First of all, here is the preliminary drawing, compared to what it looked like before the re-drawing.

You can see that the eye contours are quite different.

The left eye is more like a beautiful lady's eye, but it is not at all like Thea's.

Looking closely at the original painting, I noticed the following.

SUKIMA SANGYO post Eldramodel Thea (Nekojira Original Illust) wip part3 from patreon

Here you see first my failure.

In fact, I had to redo the eye painting quite a few times in the creation of Thea.

The reason was simple: the material I was using as a reference did not match the face parts.

I should have written about this in my Eye Painting Techniques post...but I sometimes make this mistake myself.....

[Random note]A store with a full line of modeling supplies in Japan

Every once in a while I get asked, "Do you have any recommendations for model supply stores?".

You may want to visit Radio Kaikan in Akihabara, Tokyo. There are numerous modeling supply and figure stores here, including Volks, Yellow Submarine, Amiami, and azone (doll maker). Frankly speaking, you should be able to buy almost anything you want here.

Paint samples of figures to be sold in the future are also on display, which is very enjoyable.

However, paints and thinners should not be bought as they cannot be carried on bo...

Since the wings are clear parts, the following changes have been made because we wanted a clear look like bat wings. After finishing the sanding, it is finally time to paint the body.

There is not much to say about painting the body, as there is a lot of swimsuit area, so masking is minimal.

This is what the first coat of paint looked like.

Eye painting techniques for intermediate and advanced eye painters

*Note; This post is very wordy and is likely to be a translation with poor grammar and wording. Please read it with that in mind.

You finally opened this page.... Welcome to the eye paint swamp...

There are some books on the street that give specific instructions on how to do eye painting, but surprisingly few of them explain how to move your hands and brushes, how to hold the parts without shaking your hands, etc. The resolution of the photos may be insufficient due to ...
