Another massive undertaking for the channel & hopefully a big step forwards in terms of production value/animations/sfx etc. 🚀

The green screen is making a massive difference in how immersive I can make everything and I'm super excited to see how I can develop it further! 

I've also been investing in a lot of Ai tools such as midjourney for images, runway for video and eleven labs for audio. These tools are all fantastic and are improving rapidly.

Saturday Sampling Session 🏖

Well, you all know what they say about records with naked ladies on the front! Full of gems and this one is a true classic. 💎

I've always felt there would be some great slices in this record and I wasn't disappointed. I've been through the entire album a picked out all loads of wicked chords, pads, drums & percs. ⭐️

Part of my process involves using fades to avoid all those annoying clicks - this also makes these slices perfect for chucking into hardware like the Digitakt. 💾

I could quite easily do another one of these going over more ways to create FXs but you get a good idea of my workflow from this video. Resampling is really the key to it all.

The more you practise resampling, you more you'll discover unique things from your own workflows you can use to make more FX like this. 

The key is really about messing with Sample Looping, Envelopes, Pitching, Filters, Phasing, Delays & Reverbs whilst recording everything.

New Year Post and Gift! 🎁

Hello everyone and welcome to a whole another year in our lives. 😊

Whilst I'm usually a big believer in starting the New Year off with a bang, this year has been slightly different. I suddenly got to December last year and realised that I'd been sat indoors at a computer, 70 hours a week for the best part of 2 years. Such a classic record. Amazing for Hip-Hop style chops where almost every part of the record is usuable. 

I've made a favourites folder this time as well as the folder for all main slices. I always find it so inspiring to break down a record in this way, scan through all the little peices in isolation and hear them with a different perspective than listening to the record as one whole peice. 

Chuck a filter some delay & reverb on these and slip them in to your tunes as those little bits of magic ear dust :)

Hardware vs Software: Sample Rate Reduction & Pitch Interpolation

Ok so I started making notes and collecting ideas for my top jungle techniques and ended up going down a massive rabbit hole on this one! 👀

I just really wanted to know what was going on with sample rates & pitch interpolation and anti-aliasing.  Was there any differences in the techniques? How did the software compare to the hardware? 📈

I feel like I can put this one to bed now! Decimort 2 is fantastic and comes very close for the sample rate reduction technique.
