Alrighty, it's official -- my buffer is EMPTY!!!

Thankfully the big project I've been working on for the last few months is finally wrapping up. However, EFNW 2023 is gonna be here before we know it, and as one of the lead artists on the design team I know I'm gonna have a lot of stuff on my plate soon. COOL stuff, mind you, but still, it'll be taking up a good chunk of my time! So the comic is gonna be slowing down for a while, or at the very least, I won't be posting every Wednesday anymore.

That said, I would like to keep post...

Hey all! Sorry for the delay on this one — if you're coming here from today's comic post then you've probably heard my spiel already! 

But for those who might've missed it, I'm gonna be slowing down comic updates for a bit while we enter con prep season for Everfree Northwest. I still intend on updating the comic as I finish new updates, they just might not happen every Wednesday like clockwork, that's all!

Good news: I'm finally approaching the end of that massive project I've been plugging away at, so I'll be able to dedicate more time to the comic again!

Just a heads up though, I've been dedicating most of my time to that so I could get it out the door, and unfortunately that means I've been slowly eating away at my buffer throughout February. So there's a chance I might need to switch to biweekly updates after this one goes public so I can give myself some time to play catchup, especially since I plan on taking a couple of longer trip...

HD #15 preview

Whoa, Wednesday snuck right up on me!! I'm tied up with work meetings today and realized I never queued up today's update in advance last night, but luckily I still have the photo on my phone — I usually take a picture of the finished comic and then drop it into Clip Studio to fix the levels so we end up with a clear black and white image, but before that, this is what the comics look like on the actual page, LOL. I'll have the "clean" version uploaded later today when I have time.

Been cooking up a new character for a bit... meet January "Jan" Eismann, Danae's roommate and (possibly) coworker. Why is she named January? It's not that interesting of a story, according to her, and she prefers that you just call her Jan, thank you very much! 

Jan won't show up for a bit, but we'll cross paths with her eventually. She's sort of the counterpart to Charlie's Rachael...but she's a bit more of an oddball. Looking forward to properly introducing her soon!

Hey, sorry I haven't had much to show outside of the comic lately! I've been bogged down with a lot of commissions and day job nonsense, so I haven't had much time to throw any extras up on here lately. I'm hoping maybe in a couple of weeks I'll be able to get back to posting extra sketches weekly again!

Finally in the home stretch with this project...as you can see, there's gonna be a background happening for this one too! I'm sure you can probably tell what it is already, but I don't want to show it off until everything is in place :) I'm hoping to have the whole thing done in a couple more days...

And speaking of "in a couple days"...I'll be putting up a new comic this week!! Looking forward to doing updates somewhat regularly again...it might be a little spotty just because my job has been a lot more demanding lately, but I'm hopin...

I lucked out and got off work a little early today, so I wound up doodling for a while...here's some ramblings for ya!

A new project....?

Well, not exactly new...I've been chipping away at this for months now, but since I've been given permission to use these drawings for personal stuff in addition to the project, I think I'm safe to share some WIP content here! For the record, there's a LOT more where this came from...I'll share a few more here and there while I'm on my comic hiatus.

The Process

Hey! Decided to show a bit more of my process this week (I actually forget if I shared anything like this yet, haha)

I start by drafting the comic out in Storyboard Pro! This is the only part of the process where I draw digitally, just so I can sketch out ideas without wasting paper -- as you can see, these two were gonna be in the store for a few more updates, but I decided to scrap the idea (for now) because I really wanted a change of scenery and to move some other aspects of the story along...plus the original concept ended up feel...

Hedgehog's Dilemma #10

Hey guys!!! You might've already seen this on Twitter but after next week I'll be taking a short break from updating the comic. Between the holidays and various other projects I'm involved in, I need to take some time off from updating to make sure I don't fall behind!

Just so we're clear though, I'll still be working on the comic during the break! I plan on writing some stories between now and next January, and I may even be able to share some WIPs in here too, so look forward to that! I also intend to upload other non-comic stuff her...

Super ancient Hedgehog's Dilemma concept sketches!

Ponies!!!! Sadly I didn't end up drawing much during the holiday, but I DID manage to recover some doodles that I did during a Discord call with some friends, so I went ahead and compiled them here!

Dropping a small clump of sketches this weekend since I've been busy prepping for the holidays, but didn't want to leave you guys with nothing this week! Yet another sketch dump

Another hedgehog-heavy sketch dump this week! I did draw some ponies this week too, but alas, they're for a private commission project that I'm not at liberty to share just yet!
