Gotta be some way up there. Sigh, this is not how I wanted to spend today. It was meant to be, 'wow, what a perfectly successful experiment that was. I'm several inches smaller. Time for bed!' but instead I'm stuck... like this!

At last!

This thing has been giving me so many headaches over the last few weeks, but its finally ready. Who would have thought inventing the world's very first shrink ray would be so involved? I've shrunk a pot plant, a few books, a lady beetle, even my ex's hoodie which he never collected - which reminds me, I need to unshrink that thing; so comfy!

I can just hear my friends, 'Maisie, why would you want to shrink yourself? You're already barely five foot one!' blah, blah, blah.

The graduate barely had time to process, but she looked... different - however, that concern was quickly cast aside as a glow filled the study. Who was this dark-haired woman? What had they been arguing about? Had any naive notions Maisie had had about Sophie's sanity been unfounded? And she really was just a maniac who wanted to shrink people?
