This is officially the oldest one I had in my Work in Progress folder. It's from 1997 according to the file info and probably the first mermaid I ever did (hence the Zero in the title). I liked the original a lot back then, even had lovely cards printed of it (I may still have a few lying around somewhere) but after a pretty serious work-over, last couple of days, I like it much better now. About the only thing pretty much untouched is the colour scheme. All the rest has been improved upon, better shaped, more subtle and more detailed.

Yes, my roots are in Heavy Metal. Did a lot of work in that scene originally (CD and LP covers and even a monthly gag comic in Metal Hammer and AARDSCHOK for about 8 years) and that shifted naturally towards the erotic over time, but without me losing interest in what sounds like music to my ears.
