This week we've been focusing on the script, polls, outfits and planned locations. A new location is coming for CH05 and it has begun construction as well.
For CH04 we created a couple of outdoor environments and a large building that was briefly seen from afar. This week has been great! We've been creating renders, scripting and tinkering with new scenes. We also worked on the design of a side character and a few extras planned for CH05. These characters will be in one of the locations seen at the strip mall in CH02.

CH04 has come and gone and we're now deep in the planning stage of CH05. Rendering has also begun! CH04 ended up being roughly twice the size of previous chapters and CH05 will be in the same territory. Progress reports for CH05 will begin properly next week.

This week's status update will be a quick one.
Chapter 4 of Summer Heat is coming next week! Next week's status update will be replaced by the release notes, changelog and release itself on Thursday for Enthusiast+ tiers, followed by the Player tier release on Sunday.
We will also run some polls in the near future, starting with the monthly render poll this weekend, plus the final preview of CH04.

This week, we've been adding the final renders into the game and working through the looong list of abominations that require fixing. We've also reached a new render count, over 1100! And to complement these renders, there are over 100 new sound effects to create an immersive ambience. There's also some new music additions, but our long term goal is to eventually get Summer Heat its own soundtrack.

This week we've been clawing through the final renders and wrapping up the chapter. We've also gathered quite a long list of fixes and changes to be made before release. Some renders also remain in the queue, as well as a mountain of animation frames.
This chapter has roughly twice as much content as previous releases. It has over 1000 renders and multiple animations. Our goal was to create 40-60 minutes of playtime for this chapter and we believe we've succeeded.

This week we've mostly been waiting for scenes and animation frames to render, which is not very exciting. But while that's been running we've also been coding, adding music and SFX, and scripting the next chapter.

We finished several of the animations this week. One of them proved to be quite difficult (and annoying) at first, but after staring at the keyframes for several days, the problems began to fade away. This week we worked on the animations again, a lot. They're way more complicated than the simple blinks we had in the earlier (unpublished) versions of the game and ended up not using. But unlike the blinks, we'll be keeping these ones and we hope they're satisfying. They will certainly take a good while to render, but we think they're worth it!

This week we've been going over the update and adding sound effects, proofreading and making sure the variables work as intended. Most of the coding is now done and we're just waiting for the renders. We also gave some love to the phone content, including a couple of new matches and some small quality-of-life upgrades.

This week's status update will be short but sweet. Progress is steady. We've been posing new renders for the queue and polishing the script. We spent much of our time focusing on the upcoming Freeplay segment, which contains significantly more dialogue than the previous segment(s).
