I've been meaning to make this since I released the Frasier video! A little behind-the-scenes peek at how I did the Foley work.

I cover pretty much every sound in the video except music, voices and some special effects (like the ki-charge sound; which I might make a text post about in the future)

Here you can get a peek into my compositing process LMAO... yes, I literally import all the backgrounds as planes and shift them in front of the camera when I need thEM... (leading to this giant mural of backgrounds looming just off-screen 😭😭)

Special Effects...

(this gif came out really choppy the shimmer is a LOT faster in the video LOL)

Doing special effects is always a toss up for me; I'm never sure how much I wanna do as a post-production effect in Blender and how much needs to be baked in to the raw animation.

Here I'm doing some color-flashing in Flash and will add some overlays later in Blender, but in some other shots I'm leaving it all up to future Ian to handle it in post-pro LMAO...

Leap! (2016) Review (SCRAPPED)

A few weeks ago I was trying to think up other things I could upload to my channel besides animations, so I could have a more consistent upload schedule. One idea was a comedy review series focusing on animated movies!

I only filmed/edited one of these, eventually deciding it wasn't a good fit for my channel, but I thought I'd share it with y'all as a little bonus material!!

(The outro's missing but otherwise this was it's finished form more or less)

Book Jaundice and Lip-sync

This one shot in Book Jaundice was one of the more fun but time-consuming ones to do!
Usually how I handle lip-sync (at least as of late) is animate the character without a mouth and only move them when I think it's necessary, then paste a flappy mouth on later; usually just "AH" "TT" "MM" and "OO" drawings which I flip between to fit the audio.

But for this shot I knew I wanted to go a little bigger, so I ended up redrawing the mouth (and whole head) every...

Femmebot (unfinished animation)

Soon after finishing the BOOGIE animation I had plans to do another music video clip in that same style, set to Femmebot by Charli XCX.

Unfortunately, I had freelance duties back on my plate; and knowing I wouldn't be able to monetize such a video considering the audio wasn't much incentive to finish it... :" s

I may still finish it in the future, but for now, here's the boards/rough animation!

Back in 2013 I participated in a Star Wars UNCUT thing where fans submit their own versions of scenes, be they animated or live-action, and they picked their favorites and spliced it together.

I did "Holding Threepio's Head" and (I THINK??) got picked as the one in the movie. I forget tbh LOL

Cheap Backgrounds LOL

For the How'd You Get Back There video I revisited an old technique I mainly used back with the Eric Andre show animations, reeeaally cheap backgrounds. :" D

Basically instead of drawing a bunch of individual backgrounds for every shot, I just draw one big BG and stretch it over a sliiightly 3D shape (so it has a little more pizzazz) then just zoom and pan around it and hope no one notices LOL...

I'm doing some boards for a lyric video I wanna make for that HIAGB fansong I did last year (MR. NUT) I've got all the boards done and wanted to show them here BUT... *inane gurgling and pointing at post title*

So here's one of them. There's only four shots HAHa... keeping it simple for lyric videos, just a couple animated scenes with the lyrics at the bottom.

I've been swamped with freelance stuff! I love and appreciate all my patrons here but there just aren't enough of you (YET!!) for me to focus on personal stuff full-time.

Above is a shot I animated last year for a music video (for The Second Little Piggy) that I'm finally getting around to putting a bow on.

Putting This Animation On Hold...

I just have other stuff I wanna get to, and the urgency of getting this out  has worn off so... to the back-burner with thee. LOL

I should be starting another proper re-animation soon, probably Monster Factory related.

Song Clip Fanimation (Boards)

Not sure if I'll finish this LOL... the new DJ Shadow song feat. Danny Brown (Horror Show) is such a jam and I had this fun little video idea for a clip from the song, so I boarded it out!! Just something quick.

Brule's almost finished, and next week I'm gonna try and put together a full music video for a song off Bikini Bottom but maaaybe in-between working on that I'll be able to finish up this clip! We shall see...

In Space No One Can Hear You Sweat

I started animating Brule sweating like a normal person with the drips and stuff but stopped when I realized there's no Got Damb, Gravity In space.

So here's a probably-not-very-accurate but hopefully-kinda-funny interpretation of space sweat.
