For ProtoPony1 we chosen mini servo instead of standard size. Mostly because they costs less. We also found a cheap mini servo brackets. They have a mounting holes, so servo motors can be easily screw-attached.
We also made another 3d model in Solidworks. No head this time, only pony legs :)


This is third post in series about how our old prototype was made.
This video uploaded two years ago. The same time we are identified the main OBJECTIVES of the project:
Develop a four legged robot that looks like a pony and could move by itself;
Gaining experience;
Fun!
The TASKS of the first stage was:
Develop the legs construction based on the common servo motors (see below what is it);
Develop the control system;
Develop the power supply subsystem.

...we decided to make pony robot. And to visualize the idea I made a 3d model:


ProtoPony0 was based on a common hobby servomotors and brackets.

This robot never comes to life, but design and planing must goes first!
