The Patreon Monster Hunter Monster Manual Year 5

Hello Everyone!

Here is the new Year 5 Patreon MHMM update! In this update I have added all previous monsters from the past year. This should also be the last update to this PDF outside of fixes or formatting changes.

I am still doing the monster hunter polls as we moved into frontier/explorer/othergames, but they will come in their own PDF separate from this one.

January 2024 Monster Hunt

Hello Everyone,

January 2024 MH Frontier/Online/ETC Monster Poll

Hello Everyone! 

It is finally here! The monster hunter frontier/online/explorer/other games poll has begun. While I don't have a ton of knowledge on many of these monsters, I have converted many of the previous variants from just watching videos. So I am not concerned with how they will turn out. In addition, with such a large number of monsters to pick from, I am going to do the first few polls with the maximum number of monsters I can pick. I am going to try and use new ones in each poll until I run out of monsters to pick.

Subspecies: Emerald Congalala

Monster Hunt: Colossal Conundrum

Hello Everyone,

Here is this month's monster hunt! In this hunt, a group of 2nd-level hunters go to the Ancestral Steppes to hunt down the Greatest Jaggi which has grown due to some unknown reason. I gave one example reason in the hunt if you need one. The hunt features new challenges for the area and others themed based on shrinking or enlarging creatures. Overall I am happy with it and I think it gives GMs the option to introduce monster hunter style game, while incorporating more Dungeon's and Dragons themes into the system...

Subspecies: Purple Gypceros

Hello Everyone!

This months winner is the purple gypceros! The purple gypceros is the CR 14 version of the CR 8 gypceros.  There wasn't a huge difference between the normal and its subspecies in the video games, except one thing. It really likes to blind hunters ALL the time. Due to that I incorporated its Flash into its multiattack, in addition to giving it legendary actions for more mobility and damage.

PF2e - Loot Table Thoughts and Example PDF

Hi Everyone,

I worked on this earlier in the month, but one of the biggest challenges to PF2e is going to be the loot tables. The item/crafting system in PF2e is extremely intricate but breaks down to invested items, runes, talismans, and a couple others I can't think of off the top of my head.

5e Young Monsters: Young Espinas & Diablos Whelp

Hello everyone,

Here is this months newest additions to the young monster hunter monsters. The young espinas and diablos whelp! While the diablos is fairly standard change to a lower CR creature, I thought the young espinas might be a bit different. In this case, it doesn't have that hard armor carapace. Instead its hide is softer, until it grows into its adult form. This changes it habits and traits it has due to that.

Subspecies: Copper Blangonga

Hello Everyone!

This months winner is the copper blangonga! The copper blangonga is the CR 15 version of the CR 9 blangonga. The copper blangonga is fairly similar to the normal blangonga with minor flavor differences to its attacks in the video game (ice blocks are boulders, ice breath becomes sand breath, etc). While that is the case with some of its abilities in its stat block, I did try to change it up some, that way it isn't just a flavor CR update. Overall I am happy with it and I hope you are as well.

Monster Hunt: Gendrome Roadblock

Hello Everyone,

Here is this month's monster hunt! In this hunt, a group of 3rd-level hunters go to the Desert to hunt down two gendromes that lead a large pack of genprey. I decided this hunt would be a bit longer, requiring the PCs to gather 3 signs per gendrome and fight them at different times. I added another 1-2 minor challenges to make up for this and to fit the theme of "a lot of genprey" I included genprey in almost every combat challenge.
