This is a fun song that was brought into the spotlight and popularized by a movie that I’m sure we’ve all watched. There were no live performance videos (other than the music video and a performance where they seem to be playing over the studio track) so I went by these for positioning. I love how the hard driving riffs in this one. I tried to play a real bagpipe but I quickly realized I couldn’t.

In the studio recording, there are some subtle bends, so I added them before the first measure, along with the G5 and G#5 chords. But if you prefer to keep it simple, sticking to just the power chords works too!

For this tab, I used an isolated track to capture Slash’s rhythm and lead parts. I’m not trying to overshadow Izzy’s rhythms — I think they’re just as crucial — but some of Slash’s parts get a little buried in the mix...

Finally - Crazy Train Remake

It's been five years since I posted my first take on this. A lot has changed since then, and I’m excited to share this new and improved version. I picked up a Fernandez to dive back into some Randy classics, and it does not disappoint! Taking some inspiration from Randy's live performances, I added some extra guitar work to the intro to make it a little more fun to play along with.

Everyone thinks of heavy riffs and fast down picking when they hear of James Hetfield. This song highlights what a great acoustic player he is.

I tried to match the fingerings he uses from live videos. Lately he uses a pick but I believe the recording is finger style. Either or would work fine.

Rock instrumental - All I Want For Christmas

For this year's addition to the Christmas tab playlist, I decided to create a rock instrumental version of "All I want for Christmas is You"! My goal was to reimagine the vocals melodies on lead guitar, and just add a rock twist to the whole song overall.

Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song

No solo, but a super fun song to play along with.

Such an awesome riff. I tried to find some decent live footage but the only thing I could find was a performance that looked like it was taken by the same guys who videotaped Bigfoot. Definitely not helpful! The recording itself is a little murky, like many recording of that time so I put my ears to work for this one.

Note: the final chord should be a GM, not a C9 - the C is actually played on the bass. Still sounds good - play it however you like 😁

I felt it made the song more interesting to fill out the sections where no guitar is being played, especially for playing along. Another heavily requested Megadeth Tab. They were cranking out amazing songs at this time, and the leads from both Marty and Dave are awesome on this one.

I envy people like Dave who can play tongue twister riffs and sing at the same time. I don't know anyone else that does it like he does.

This one is packed with great licks - especially the groove in the chorus riff. Countdown to Extinction was just a killer record.

The solo is amazing and is definitely learnable for an intermediate guitarist.

Opus Pocus 🔥!

Not sure where to start about this one. Blows my mind how Jason Becker wrote this when he was so young. The atonal section... that took a while to learn. With no performance videos to go by, I chose the fingering that seemed most logical to me. There is so much personality shining through in every note - even the ones that are flying by at a million miles an hour. I tried to capture it as much as I could! The arpeggio section is a monster. So fast.
