I think [REDACTED] is mad.

[REDACTED] brand sent me another email today after I indirected them at the end of The Black Church video, trying to explain the situation with the sponsorship. It was interesting to say the least.

Who knows if I'll ever hear from them again.

I don't want patrons thinking I actually buy into this. Side video.

This was made on a whim, and it's essentially just a parody of played out black capitalist motivational speeches that sell people falsehoods and the American Dream.

Attached below is the full version of The Story of OJ acapella. God, that was weird to record.

Sorry the video is taking a while. I've been buried in programming for a while.

This one is a comic strip reference, like a bunch of them. Someday, I should probably go into a lot of the influences. Alas, someday is not today.

Thank You.

I don't communicate this often, but I really do appreciate everyone who supports the channel and the things I create.

Last month my Dad lost his job, and we've been really struggling to keep afloat. He wasn't... well, he's not exactly wealthy. He worked as a cleaner for 30 years at the same company, and I'm really worried for him.

But, seeing the channel and the all of you support me for trying to do something outside myself gives me a lot of hope in these turbulent times. And, for that, I sincerely thank all of you.

Quick Update.

Apologies for the week without posts, I've been silently buried in programming and work recently and that's taken up a huge chunk of my time. God-willing, the next Free Huey should drop this month.

I might also be recording Exodus episodes for Boondocks commentary in the Discord server, for those that are interested. More with time. Who is to say.

Just thought I should update people on what's going on.

This one had a pretty fast turnaround time. Like, I'm honestly surprised at how quickly I managed to finish this one. My guess is when I'm not doing political stuff, it's easier to gather my thoughts.

This is a fun filler video. Have fun with it.

Or not. I don't know.

I'm in a video gamey mood, so I think it'd be fun to drop this video sometime soon.

I know people want the new Free Huey and Boondocks video, but hopefully this helps bide time for the next video. In the meantime, check out this video by Mann of a Thousand Thoughts that I'm in.

It's a bunch of black creatives discussing how black animated characters impacted them and their relationship with them. It's really cool, and I think elevating the v...

Free Huey | Some New Design Assets

TheStoryteller post Free Huey | Some New Design Assets from patreon

Made an "abridged" logo for on-screen, outside the regular one for the intro.

And, added a new means of creating a subheading, for the sake of clarity. I say this all the time, but design is everything with these things, cause' while they're tedious, it makes information a lot more digestible.

Think... uhhhh, what Aaron said regarding strategy and the means in which you communicate information.

Had to Make (and remake) Some New and Old Assets

TheStoryteller post Had to Make (and remake) Some New and Old Assets from patreon

I actually lost the original Free Huey logo assets on a corrupted USB, so just today I had to remake the logo. It's a shame, but it got me thinking about sharing more of my general assets.

My look for Free Huey videos is generally using orange, white and black. I decided to play around with the use of red and some purple in some of the latest stuff, so hopefully it gels well with the current look. There's a lot of thought that goes into the design for these things.

Free Huey's general design was partially inspired by ESPN F...

Stylistic Influences on Last Video

TheStoryteller post Stylistic Influences on Last Video from patreon

For a few people it was obvious, but for those who don't know. Off The Record's look took a heavy influence from The World Ends With You's aesthetic, as I felt it fit the tone of what I was trying to do.

The transitions were inspired by Parappa The Rapper, and Jet Set Radio for the loading screen and record scratches. The theme song used at the beginning is from a game with the same composer, Bomb Cyber Funk.

I personally just find it incredibly interesting how easy it is to interweave different elements of video games into somet...
