CHAPTER 2 - WIP snippets ($1+)

04/20/2022: sometimes I draw a Zagreus I'm pleased with immediately... and sometimes it takes a lot of discards 😬 the top expression was too similar to the bottom one, which took away the bottom one's impact, so it needed to be changed, after spending >1 hr getting his head right...ah well!!!

1/2/2022: Hello!!! Just reporting that ch 1 is finally done and it'll be going up for the $3+ tiers once I export it, sometime this week!! Higher tiers got a beta look at it a couple days ago, and it's already changed a tiny bit since then.

I'm yearning on this Monday to draw yearning gay ppl so here's some more page wips.😩

As dialogue gets put on solid sketches,  I'm finding things I'd still like to edit. So maybe it's wiser to consider these the Thumbs and the other sheets the Layouts...? The division is murky, and either way, there's editing I'm doing along the way (see: magenta).  Half of this chapter is sketched out like this and all there's left is Sex Scene 1 of 4. Learning!!!!!

first to do list!! It feels like I was so focused on selling the Zagchilles part that we gotta make sure TZ is pulling equal weight. Banking on reader's preconceived notions is easy and a nice part of fanworks it'll probably work OK as it is, but we could go deeper!!!! i woke up in a frenzy before my alarm cos of this lol

OKAY!!! And epilogue is done!! 15 pages total. 

So with the additional  3 pages to Chapter V, we're at a total of 186 pages!! Okay!!! We're not at 200!!! this is a good number!! !that is it!!! now i just!!! !!! start!!!!! going through and making sure this roadmap is good!!!! wowie wow i love smutty fancomics!!!!!!!!!!! so much!!!!! zagreus is gonna fuck so much good for ohim

Slight edit - I ended up extending the epilogue to be more flesh out, so the old epilogue of a few pages is folded into here. It makes a nicer conclusion here anyway. So, 36 pages for Part V!

ok now it is 11:50pm on a Thursday, a more appropriate time to be drawing smut. 

all thumbs now done, ~33 thumbs. 8:40-11:40 with fucking around for 16 thumbs. So that's like 12 min per thumb? I was using a comic production estimation spreadsheet that needed me to know how long it took me to do a thumbn...

Concept sketch - Achilles' room, the House layout

im very tired of drawing Zagreus' bedroom, so we're visiting three other bedrooms instead!! here's Achilles'. I needed to plot out enough of the layout so I could better thumb the staging in the scenes, since we come here twice

 troy (2004) achilles is just a placeholder. also i've still not seen troy (2004) but hear it's really something....

CHAPTER 4 - thumbs - all (3/23/2022) ($1+)

03/23/2022: almost exactly 5 months later, haha! Purple are the edited pages of: revised sex sequence (20 pages, ~8 hrs 3/22);  a small slice-of-life sequence (7-2pm, 3/23, 10 pgs).
Still need to revise the second half--I'm switching up the backgrounds/environments, since having the same room(s) on repeat feel stale.
46 pages, anticipating around 50 at most. Current book estimate is 252 pgs 

10/24/2021 - OKAY!! Part IV is 34 pages!! There's lots of talking heads so tryng to keep it interesting is a bit of a challenge ...

2/12/2022: oh god has nearly a month passed already? anyway, the sex got a facelift and this chapter is 45 pages now, but i think i can consolidate? i dont know what's happening anymore but i think finally this is the direction?? omg

still wavering between calling each section "Parts" versus "Chapters". In light of Part/Chapter 2 being 52 pages total, I wonder if I should just split the sub-chapters into their own chapter--meaning, instead of 5 chapters, there''d be 7.... plus an epilogue... oh my god.......

Full disclosure this is from last week on the day when my wrists decided they were going on strike, had a little mini comic planned for kinktober too 😫

Anyway doing some idle writing here and there, probably taking another weekend off drawing plus as much extra time as I can manage bc I am v serious about wrist pain NOT being a permanent fixture in my life. I have work to do and also smut to draw after the work is done and I’m v determined about the smut tbh

Reverted to an older title layout, so  it's super extremely hidden in the corner now lol, we'll see tomorrow if i want to actually give it contrast. I probably should for readability/accessibility, but the OG orientation is superior, guess sometimes first ideas are better lol. 

Also tweaked the summary, and made a quick interior title/cw page, as well as an empty Table of Contents page that isn't quite relevant here but more for print in the future WHICH I HOPE WE REACH ONE DAY!!!

Ok!! Zagreus was being A Problem for a hot sec but once I figured out what's up with him, the rest is falling into place. Still gotta tweak his face, Achilles' leg, some other stuff, but once those + the background are inked, I'm just gonna barrel into coloring to get this puppy done. Then my soul can rest and I can just keep going with actual pages

Realized that apparently all my covers require:

a) Thanatos to be lying on his back with his head turned 3/4

b) Zagreus sitting at a v frustrating top-down angle

c) the camera to be awkardly above everyone but not quite
