New Ask Goomba

It is done. Ah, I guess that's why I don't do Ask Goomba much cos there's so much animation involved. Took ages, and also had some pretty bad life events happen during this video which slowed it down.

But alas it's done. Hoping to get content back out somewhat regularly as this took way too long. Still, I think it turned out great.

Let me know if the volume is ok btw. Had some issues with the sound mixing.

Ok this ended up being a massive project holy crap. But I think it turned out great. Still need the audio and stuff though.

There's a lot of questions so part of me thinks I might just be cheeky and split it into two videos, but we'll see how it goes.

Anyway, glad it's done. Now I can work on the actual answers.

Thumbnail process for Mario Kart DS

Was pretty straight forward overall.  The only issue was... to be truthful I didn't like the background lol. The first one was too grey and Rainbow Road wasn't really working and I felt like I was messing the artist around keep requesting stuff and the video was basically ready to go. So, I guess rather awkwardly I just did the final background myself. Put a lot of effort into that background so glad it turned out good tbh.

It was weird cos I had these very nice looking drawings but I just couldn't get them to work on a thumbnail....

3DS capture test

Figured I'd try to record 3DS footage. I tried years ago and my PC couldnt handle it. So I never bothered. But it seems to be running fine here. So maybe it's a game by game basis.

There's not a ton of 3DS games I'd wanna review but there's a few so I might dabble.

Mario Kart thumbnail process

Heyo. Here's the sort of process that goes into the thumbnail. It's mostly me coming up with an idea, sending a doodle or something and going back and forth with ShyguyXXL with doodles till something works. 

The original idea was just having the Goomba with existing Mario Kart artwork...to save time and money. But then I realised...might as well just pay more and get a good thumbnail and hopefully the video does better because of it.

We were kinda stumped for an idea for a while, but then I figured, it's the highest rated Ma...

Ah man this took ages to edit. I might trim / streamline some of it cos it seems a little long. Depends how it goes during the video editing I suppose.

Heyo. Figured I'd share a lil video showing the step by step process I go through when animating the Goomba segments

1) Lip syncing to audio

2) Adding head to match lip syncing

3) Placing body parts

4) Positioning Goomba onto scene.

5) Facial expressions, face movement and adding movement to Goomba and objects.
