Liminal spaces: Sears

Well, I had scheduled something else for you today showing a rather clever solution to mounting the 360 cam to KITTesla for that recent video, but apparently the Patreon app can't be trusted not to schedule a post then totally wipe all content from it (sigh)... so instead, here's a little adventure I went on recently when they left the door unlocked to the long-since closed down Sears in our local mall. It's filmed on my flipphone.

This was quite an endeavour to put together but I really enjoyed setting up the 5 or so cameras, compiling all the footage into a multicam in Final Cut, then setting about editing it down to the magical 30 mins....

Chat64 Update from the team

Not my video and note you'll need to turn on [CC] captions then select Settings>Subtitles>Auto Translate to see the English translation, but the fun thing is if you watched my Chat64 video where I chatted live with the team, they filmed the other side of the chat here (from 4:45) so for the first time, I (and you) can see who we were chatting with!

Exclusive: Left to my own Dancemoves?

Sometimes for big videos there is footage I'd love to leave in but would turn a perfectly timed 29 minute video into something too long that hurts engagement metrics and so leads to less views for a story I really want to tell. 

Such was the case with the first "Back to the 80s" video of recreating my bedroom computer setups, where I found myself miming to basically the entirety of "Left To My Own Devices" from Pet Shop Boy's incredible album "Introspective" (off my Walkman of course).

Thanks for all your insight on this. Based on your feedback I made several changes to the images then ran 4 versions through a website called thumbnailtest.com and it tried each one for an hour, 3 times. Here were the results (the final number is the number of views):
