I have added the wrought iron details and the recessed version of the well.
Here you can see the difference between the easy build and the advanced version. I was surprised how good the the quick build on the left looks. If I need to populate a dungeon with a couple of these I will go for that option!

While working on the cistern I got feedback the the shape was too large, so I made the geometry a bit smaller. I only found this after I made all the texture variations so here the shape was still too big.
The cistern will come with and without covering lids. So far I only have the easy build hinting at the deep opening via the texture shadows, but I also want to add a recessed opening for better looks if you want to build it that way.

I have been doing the basic size blocking - to make sure it's not too small or large- and a very rough texture sketch for the cistern. I wanted it to fit on the base tile from the obelisk but it could go in a dungeon, a cave or maybe a clearing in a forest. It should also provide options for cover, LOS or jumping up on for elevated position!

... will be an exterior bit. After looking at the base tile for the obelisk I want to make a stone well piece that will fit onto the octogon pattern. Come to think of it, it could also be an interior bit too! A cistern in a castle or an dungeon comes to mind.
I am also very much in love with the interior bits for the tavern. If time allows I want to make a bar module.

I got so many requests for additions on the free model that I decided to throw them all into a DELUXE version. Here you see the addition of pebbles, grass, dusty snow and snow cover. I like the pebbles very much as it adds a nice level of detail to the ground.
When I was asked to do snow to the base I was hesitant because I have never done that before. But with a lot of research, experimenting and some very wrong turns in the development I think I have arrived at a point where I start to feel comfortable including that into my library ...

Here's a look at the first textured builds. I am glad how they turned out with some paint on as the white prototypes where a little "unimpressive" :-)
The Patreon version will contain a "wooden knobs" option for the handles.
Also I was asked to make an "open" version and I threw in some "fillings" (jugs and mugs etc.) for the tavern theme (again Patreon bonus version only).

With all my non-profit projects out of my way I am looking forward to create some interior bits!
As I mentioned I am starting with some sideboard cupboards that will go well with any kind of medieval or rustic interior. To start I will go with these sizes. A narrower and higher version (2x0.5") and then a wider one (2.5x0.75").
Once they are textured and some options added they should look great and make my tavern "stage" set come to life!
The Australian Wildlife has sold quite a bit already so I am looking forward to...

The last collaborations including the Australian one took more work and time than I had estimated but now I am back to working on new projects. Sorry I have been a bit quiet this start of the year but there is so much going on (also behind the scenes).

Besides everything else I am working on an 12" wide version of the CCY set. The original building was 8" wide and for the "real deal" the central building would have to wider.
Here you see the 8" house within the walls of the 12" wide build.
The challenge with this width is that the parts become larger-than-page-size. So they have to be glued layered/offset. But it's not hard to do and give me so much more options on parts size!

The last months it was all over the news: the 2019/2020 season bush fires in Australia have been the worst in a long time. Both humans and animals have suffered on a massive scale. Homes and territory have been lost to the fires and for the animals - esp the ones that are just to slow - the fires meant death for so many.
But amidst this drama I have also seen many reports about people helping ... and I hope that we - you and I, with the help of my papercrafting designer and builder friends - can add a little support in the help efforts...

After having properly said good-bye to 2019 it's time to start focusing on 2020!

After the x-mas holidays I like to take a good look at the year behind me. First it's great to remind yourself what you have achieved (I am usually so forward focused, that I overlook that) and also it helps to plan for the year ahead!
My two major success stories were the "Pirate" ships (which lead to the Pirate island inspired Tropical Village sets) and of course, you, my Patrons.

The prep for the hearse wagon is in it's final stages. And one thing I needed was a new base so I can have a proper stand for two rows of horses (or ponies, mules, donkyes, oxen etc.). So I quickly designed and built these :-) They are textured matching the graveyard ground tiles.

To finally improve the upper wagon I added ornament strips, which you can optionally glue around the "box" shape and just with that I think it looks so much better!
I then wanted to have a lantern option. For placement you could position them on the top in the corners or around the sides. I have reused the lamp I designed for the street lamppost and added a mounting section. So you have white light but also (as shown) orange/red, blue and green light versions.

I have completed the build of the 3D undercarriage!
As my autocutter is not working right now I had to cut all the wheels out by hand ... and it wasn't even that much of a fuss! I love wheels that are not just flat discs :-) I cut out all the spaces between the spokes but even when you leave them in and just glue on the outer rings and the inner axle rings it will improve the look of your wheels by 200%
To make the undercarriage a separate module, I had to take some creative liberties but this way I can even make a front axle tha...

If you have a little more time to build, you can try this version of the undercarriage. It's basically just the sides of the easy box connected with a framework to hold it together and give the assembly some "space" to place the wagon on.
In this build I have also doubled up the wheels and glued them onto the sides for a little depth. You can skip that part and then the sides will look as flat as the boxed version.

This is the most simple undercarriage. Not everyone will want to build the advanced version or might need a couple of wagons fast. Then this is the way to go :-)
It's a simple textured box and that way it is built very fast.
