BTS Cenotes

We could shoot at this one cenote all day, but eventually we moved to another with mangroves and a single crocodile. We met the crocodile too! It was beautiful. Tulum was beautiful. Being around lovely places and enjoying nature makes me want to bring a part of it home to spread around me.  Can we not make every place wonderful to be?

Freelance modeling is a strange profession.  I'm not sure what to relate it to.  When I first started modeling it was a hobby.  I picked it up from a friend that did photography, and then his friends. I started searching for other photographers to work with.  It didn't much matter what kind of work they did, I had a fascination with all of it. The first time I met Nova, I bonded with her.  I toured with her for a month a few summers ago and look forward to your next 5 month long, summer tour. If I can do it with anyone, it'd be Nova. First Creative Self Portrait- The Human Candle

Still on Memory lane. This was one of the first editing projects I gave myself and then hid it away out of fear once again that they weren't good enough, that I only liked them because I'd done them. Well it's almost 2.5 years later. I'm impressed with my former self.  I've grown, but I envy the creativity and experimentation of my beginnings. I don't know that I've lost it though. I just challenge myself harder, but maybe art isn't about the constant challenge. It's about creating, and sometimes that is a challenge.

Start from the beginning

This is one of my first ever self portraits (which is why I look a bit different). I think this was the end of 2016. A photographer had cancelled on me last minute, after also having made me feel inadequate.  I've since learned that some people will use various manipulation tactics to get me to lower my rates. For instance suggesting I might not be worth the money so he wanted to pay only half my rate and he might give me the rest if I'm a good model.  I'm so naive.  And back then I was super easy to manipulate.  I've sin...

My plan was to edit at least one of these and post them before midnight but I struggled. I have another one that I probably worked the longest on and it still didn't come out right. Maybe I'll wake up in the morning and it'll look alright. It isn't a self confidence issue but plane old writer's block. I forced myself to squeeze out some creativity and perspective. Post Birthday Shenanigans

It's been a busy week. Between planning or celebrating my birthday with friends and family, working on side projects, and looking for houses, I haven't had a lot of time to answer messages and think about my upcoming tours. Hopefully I'll get some of that done today, but I'm in desperate need of relaxation as well as still having personal projects to finish up. My mental health has gotten to a pretty good place with therapy and medication. My coping skills, life balance, etc have come together a lot. Nothing is perfect. Sunset

I miss Florida. People have a bad idea of Florida. I get ti. It's press is awful, and going to the tourist spots are awful! But I've come to love its nature and animals. I love the water and perfect winters.  It gets crazy hot in summer, but it honestly does everywhere. I hate the summer and always will. The only thing good about summer is the pool and water.  But it's too hot to breath and impossible to live in.  The sun constantly threatens to burn me and mosquitoes and insects really eat me up!

I miss it so bad. Listening to the rain tonight is lovely but I still feel chilly tonight and would rather stay dry to stay warm. I'm biding my time and imagining the days of summer where I can return to the water. I'm looking forward to all the moments.

Need to get a little cold

Maybe I should continue my Ireland tale.  What was is like? We hiked a bit.  We hiked the circle of Kerry in Kenmare.  Though we hiked all day for 14 miles, we didn't make the full circle.  Grant got tired and dehydrated.  Lucky me I'm use to dehydration and painful feet, and I had a blister on the back of my foot that still seems to be healing.  I learned to bring two pairs of shoes since my feet will inevitably come to hate any pair I wear for a week straight.
