Tip: Interfacing and Seam allowance

Just a quick tip that I learned from Pinku's Crafty Cottage.

Two Basic Rules for interfacing:
1.The more thickness your interfacing has, the more seam allowance you need to add.
2. The thinner the stretchy material you are using, the thicker the interfacing you should use generally

I personally like this brand because it can spray upside down, becomes tacky quickly. You can buy it here.  can be used carefully on the face, bonds pretty good to foam and great to EVA foam.

Materials: Fur and fullsuit Storage THE DIMPA!

This is the bag I use  to store fur. It fits ALOT of fur. At least 5 yards at a time. Grear for organizing projects and stacking while keeping them safe! This is also great for fullsuit storage and even some heads. I send these out with my clients fullsuits.

Tip: Make your Neck Shape FIERCE.

I know its really tempting to round things off, especially if you struggle with symmetry. But look here at the difference in neck styles here. It looked off to me so I cut a ton of it off. Monty had to resew up some of the seams, but see how much better that looks?

Always make sure to give your fursuit makers time to correct things like this. :)

Sicka Hair Tutorial Part 2: Glueing edges, brushing seams

So next we will work on the pieces that need to be flat. I do this partially because making multiple pieces of rainbow would be a lot of work but also because it looks better to layer these rather than make big fat sewn pieces.

After I finished sewing the rainbow pieces and the big bang piece. I carefully rolled the seams over and glued them to the backing. Be really careful not to over do it with your gluegun and ruin all your hard work! I use wonder clips to hold down the edges while they dry!

Sicka Hair Tutorial Part 1 : Patterning Long rainbow Hair

Note: Use Masking Tape instead of duct tape or you might get a slimey residue or rip out the fur. You wanna position the bangs between the ears to keep the illusion that they are coming from somewhere.
