One of the most challenging shooting types are shootings with a group of models. When I was in Sicily last September, I had the chance to shoot with 4 models at the same time. Fortunately I knew all 4 of them already. I had only 30 minutes for this shooting, so there was not much time to provide directions to the models during the shooting. It was rather 4 models playing their roles, not waiting for the photographer...

Upcoming g/g shoot - Moodboard

There are only 2 days left before we meet in Speyer for the g/g shooting with Irina and Sofia. Today I sent them some pics what I have in mind for our shooting - of course, location, models and light will be different but it's important that they understand where I want to go ... The pictures are from various photographers and you may recognize that the last 2 pics are part of the video clip which was the initial inspiration.

Upcoming g/g shoot - Working on moods

Few days ago I talked about an upcoming g/g shoot in Speyer on May 8. So it's time to think about the basic idea for this shoot. Here's a link to a video clip as an inspiration for this shooting. Not sure I will use the idea of writing with a pen on the model's skin but could work well with Sofia's tattoos.

Upcoming g/g shoot ...

Last weekend I got a message from Sofia that she will be in Frankfurt beginning of May and would like to shoot with me. I know that Sofia and one of my favorite models, Irina Lozovaya, are good friends. I didn't work with Sofia yet, but thinking about the options, the idea for a g/g shooting was born.

Logistically, such a shooting is quite an effort. With Sofia residing in Frankfurt, Irina will come by train from Cologne to Frankfurt and I will meet them there, coming from Munich by car. Together we will go to the location named bau113...

Inspiration & Utility

In my shooting I often use a book to have the model look into it - mostly I use "Revenge" by Ellen von Unwerth for that. There are some reasons

• All pictures shown are black and white - so the color concept of my shooting set is not disturbed by a picture in the book

• The book presents a story and therefore deals with the same topic all over

• There was no model so far, not being fascinated by the book which makes it easier to work with it during the shooting

• and finally - Ellen von Un...

My first shooting with Rebecca Bagnol

Rebecca is one of my favorite models I love to work with. Over the last years we have had more than 15 shootings together and I always got a bunch of excellent pictures.

Of course, our both experience grew over time and our way of shooting changed a lot - but we have a common understanding what's a good picture and this makes it easy to create new things.

This series was done back in August 2018, when we had our first shooting in Cologne, Germany.
