I’m mostly settled in to the new living situation with my bae, trying to get back into my creative routine. Here’s a panel from Fire in the Rain pg. 11, Doug’s physician, Dr. Karo Ando. Dr. Ando is visually based on the MMA fighter Karo Parisian, and the surname is in honor of the main character of the sequel book/film to Ringu, Spiral (Rasen), who goes by the same name, Dr. Ando.

I mentioned in a previous post that I had held a contest on Instagram, I needed a third (and maybe fourth) gun toting comic book heroine to round out a flash set with Motoko and Judge Anderson.
First I asked for entries. Some were who I was already leaning towards (Tank Girl) and some were villains who I liked for the spot (Mystique). I didn’t want a mainstream character but I knew if I opened it up to suggestions I would get plenty, but I also got a lot of new-to-me characters.
