Working my angles... dramatic angles from reference are often an exercise in looking and seeing... your mind will mess with the angles and “straighten” it out when you try translating to paper. Even after many corrections, the diagonal angles of the eyes are probably not as extreme as they should be 😅

The show “Falcon and Winter Soldier” started yesterday. One of my main gripes about the MCU is the military presence. The movies and shows are never critical of the government or the military, and many characters (such as the Falcon) have the military to thank for their origins, and continue on as operatives of the war machine. Some of these warm ups will be focused on anatomy... I do save a lot of pictures of anatomy that I would use as reference, and this is one of them. Back of the head, ears, neck, and flexed/contracted back muscles are all things I need practice drawing!

We watched the “Donner cut” of Superman 2 last night and I wondered why there isn’t more fan art of the Kryptonian Non (played by Jack O’Halloran). If you’re so inclined, the Donner cut is a much better movie than the original release.

I must say, as much as I have a love/hate relationship with mainstream comics, I started a subscription to Marvel Unlimited last week, essentially a library pass to Marvel’s catalog online and digitally. Not everything is there, but compared to when I last tried it out (8 years ago), there’s a lot. I would assume everything will be up eventually. Well it’s been inspiring to read and check out the art, there’s some great artists in this field. It’s definitely been inspiring.
