Mandy and Jay old DiD pics
I mentioned in an earlier post that I'd tried several styles of colouring for Mandy and Jay over the years. These were from around 2007 and I was trying a different style of drawing and shading which, ultimately, I didn't think worked very well. But I found these pics the other day and thought you may be interested to see, either for the DiD side or to see how the characters have developed.

I thought I'd try using screen tones for my Mandy comic. I've never really tried them before so it's a bit of a learning curve. These are my first tries. The pic of Trixie helping Jay up was done using an old inked picture I had. The picture of all three girls together (Mandy left, Jay centre, Trixie right) was done specifically for this, hence the new style for the eyes.
What do we think?

These are some old pictures relating to a story that is going to be getting a revival. It's something my wife and I are working on and I'll be sharing some of its progress here.
These are some of the characters from the story in pictures I did WAY back, before I'd even started colouring digitally (yes that one picture is coloured in pencil crayon!) . The girls are Mandy (black and white hair), Jay (brown and blonde hair) and the couple cuddling are Trixie and Justin.
I'll be doing more work on these soon and the whole story...

Maybe I was feeling sorry for her always being tied up somewhere dark and cold or something...Anyway, here's a version of the Anna Pole Tied pic with a nice sunny background. Quite a contrast to the Buildings comic setting which is where the dress is from!

Sam had been staying at Fiona's house when Bojo announced the lockdown in the UK. So, she decided to stay there and keep her big sis company. I was a bit frustrated as I had planned on seeing Sam (and Fiona) again soon but we said we'd keep in touch over some video chat thing. I don't know if Fiona had got bored being shut in the house all the time or whether Sam had just really annoyed her but the last video call I had from Sam was, well, rather amusing...;)
